Our Vision

At Set Apart Academy, our mission is to build confidence in every child—confidence in who they are, who they were created to be, and who they are becoming. We are committed to helping children develop the ability to understand and articulate their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a healthy and intentional way.

We teach children that it is okay to experience big emotions, but those emotions should not control them. Through guidance and support, they learn emotional awareness, self-regulation, and how to respond rather than react. Our goal is to equip each child with the tools they need to navigate their inner world with confidence and clarity.

We desire for every child who comes through Set Apart Academy to leave transformed—set apart and prepared for their next journey. Above all, we strive to create an environment where every child feels seen, loved, safe, and supported—an experience they will carry with them long after they leave.

Our Programs

Holistic Learning

Explore our diverse programs designed to inspire and educate. From personalized academic plans to sensory-friendly activities and social skills development, we offer a holistic approach to learning that focuses on academic excellence and individual progress.

Early Literacy Development

Catering to Individual Needs

Our Early Literacy Development program is designed to build a strong foundation in reading, comprehension, and communication. Children are guided through letter recognition, phonics, word building, and early reading skills in a way that is both engaging and developmentally appropriate. We prioritize confidence just as much as capability, ensuring that each child progresses at their own pace. Through individualized support and intentional instruction, children not only learn how to read, but begin to enjoy the process and develop a lasting connection to learning.

Spanish Instruction

Embracing Differences

Our Spanish Instruction program introduces children to a second language in a natural, interactive, and engaging way. Through consistent exposure to vocabulary, conversational phrases, and listening activities, children begin to understand and use Spanish with growing confidence. This program supports cognitive development, strengthens memory, and expands communication skills, while also fostering cultural awareness. Our approach is designed to feel both fun and accessible, allowing children to learn without pressure while building a strong bilingual foundation.

Emotional Development

Nurturing Interpersonal Growth

Our Emotional Development program is a core part of what makes Set Apart Academy unique. We believe that true growth begins with self-awareness, which is why we intentionally teach children how to identify, understand, and express their emotions in healthy ways. Through guided support, children learn emotional regulation, communication skills, and social awareness. This program is rooted in a trauma-informed and faith-integrated approach, helping children build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of identity as they navigate their emotions and relationships.

Penmanship Development

Preparing for the Future

Our Penmanship Development program focuses on strengthening handwriting skills while also supporting fine motor development, focus, and discipline. Children are guided through proper letter formation, spacing, and hand control in a structured yet supportive environment. This program is especially beneficial for developing coordination and reducing frustration with writing tasks. As children grow in their ability to write clearly and confidently, they also build the foundational skills needed for overall academic success.

Rachael Ross

I can't say enough positive things about Mrs. Lupe as an educator. Some of the things I appreciated most about her was her genuine love and concern for children, her heart for Jesus, and her strong communication. Mrs. Lupe went above and beyond to make Rosie and her classmates feel seen and heard. She validated their big feelings and taught them important social and emotional skills. Because of Lupe's dedication to strong, developmentally appropriate academic instruction, Rosie began reading as a four-year-old. She learned so much while in Mrs. Lupe's care. As a parent, I always felt like a partner in my child's education. Lupe was extremely communicative and shared progress with us about Rosie's behavior and academic growth.

Mrs. Rivera Thompson created a warm, welcoming, and structured environment that allowed our son to truly thrive. Under her gentle guidance and nurturing care, we witnessed tremendous growth in our son—not just academically, but emotionally and socially as well.

One of the most remarkable changes we saw in our son was in his ability to follow directions, stay focused on tasks, and regulate his emotions in a way that was developmentally appropriate and encouraging. Mrs. Rivera Thompson was instrumental in supporting these areas of growth through her patient, consistent approach and positive reinforcement. She helped him feel safe and understood, offering the kind of support that nurtured both his confidence and independence.
